Chronic Illness Defined
WHAT IS A CHRONIC ILLNESS?
A chronic illness is a long-term health condition that may not have a cure. Examples of chronic illnesses are:
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Mood disorders (bipolar, cyclothymic, and depression)
Treatment of the symptoms of a chronic illness or disease can drain a person’s finances. Although medical insurance covers therapy as a treatment option, those insurance providers oftentimes DO NOT COVER Specialized treatment, especially by out-of-network service providers.
Living benefits are funds paid to the insurer suffering with a Chronic Illness. These funds can be used to cover out-of-pocket expenses for denied treatments or services from a Specialist who does not have a referral by the Primary Care Physician.
